So your child wants to be a Rockstar and wants to play the drums! It’s a great starter instrument, younger children can learn some basics of playing and feel like Rockstars with play-along music. At the same time, they will learn rhythm, timing, musical memory, muscle memory, patterns, and hand-eye coordination.

At what age can my child begin Drum lessons?
Children as young as six can start playing the drums. Have you seen a six-year-old face after playing drums for a few minutes? It’s the face of a Rockstar (If your child is below 6, we can schedule a trial before moving forward).
What Styles Of Music Do You Teach?
We teach rock, and pop and have experience teaching all genres of music.
Do We Need To Have A Drum Set At Home?
Beginning drum students need only their drumsticks and a drum pad to practice at home.
Once a child progresses, they can move to a simple drum set with three or four pieces. After that they can move to what’s called a four (or five) piece kit, that’s essentially a full, real drum set.
What Will My Child Learn In Drum Lessons?
When you enroll your child at Hollywood Music, our drum instructors will establish the correct technique at the get-go. Your child will learn proper technique using proper grip, posture, wrist motion, etc.
Playing the drums requires good coordination and control of movement. Our students work on a wide range of exercises designed to improve speed and coordination.
How Long Will It Take For My Child To Be Able To Play The Drums?
Your child will be able to play the drums on day one. However, to progress and develop skills and achieve milestones will take commitment. Hollywood School of Music and Dance offers a consistent, supportive learning environment to help your child thrive and enjoy music lessons to the fullest.
